On Thursday 10 February 2022, residential investment manager Amvest and project developer KondorWessels Vastgoed signed the turnkey implementation agreement for 53 rental homes in Lloyd Yard in Rotterdam.
The Lloyd Pier is regarded as one of the most important areas of transformation in Rotterdam and Lloyd Yard is the final element of this transformation. It is here that KondorWessels Vastgoed is creating a unique ensemble of buildings, consisting of 136 owner-occupied and rental homes and ten self-build plots. The result will be an interplay of imposing buildings of differing heights on the banks of the river Maas, with a wild and robust courtyard garden. Lloyd Yard is going to be made up of six different buildings, each with their own unique character which tangibly reflects the port’s history.
Amvest is incorporating all the 53 rental homes in its portfolio for Aegon, of which 30 fall under the mid-priced action plan of the municipality of Rotterdam. By doing so, Amvest is contributing to the stock of affordable rental homes in the city of Rotterdam. The rental homes are located in block D of the ‘Kratonblok’ building along the Kratonkade. The expectation is that the homes will be available for rent in the first quarter of 2024. The future tenants will be offered services such as shared mobility.
